Incredibly Easy and Oh-So Delicious Avocado Ranch Dip
Don’t you love having recipes that are really simple, great for entertaining, and come together literally in a minute or two? Yep, so do I.
Today friends, I would like to introduce you to one. Please meet the Incredibly Easy and Oh-So Delicious Avocado Ranch Dip.
This is also one of those recipes that leave friends raving and me just kind of smiling and shrugging. Honestly, it’s so simple that I was really shocked when everyone kept telling me how much they loved it the first time I made it!
Every time I’ve made it, I get those same reviews and requests for the recipe, and of course I’m glad to share.
This recipe really is so simple, but delicious enough to set out any time you want to offer some hospitality. With two main ingredients and some seasonings, and only a bowl and a fork as the necessary tools, you can have this whipped up in under two minutes.
But before the recipe, I have to tell you something about me. I loathe ranch dressing. I mean, I seriously, truly, not-exaggerating-one-iota can’t stand the stuff. The smell of it during pregnancy? Please, let’s just not.
However, I live in a house full of ranch admirers. We actually don’t have a bottle of it in the house, mainly because of my disdain, but also because it’s so hard to find a ranch dressing with a decent ingredients list.
This dip, though, has a mild ranch flavor. It’s strong enough to give my ranch-lovers a fix, but with the other flavors there, mild enough that I actually enjoy it, too.
And I figure, if I like this ranch-flavored dip, it must be pretty good indeed.
We love it on veggies, but try it on sandwiches, crackers, chips, or even potatoes! Really, this is a great alternative to a conventional ranch dip while being way more nutritious and healthy. Enjoy!
Incredibly Easy & Oh-So Delicious Avocado Ranch Dip
Ingredients
- 2 ripe avocados
- 3 Tablespoons sour cream (I really like the Daisy brand because it is free of additives)
- 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice (confession: I don’t measure; I just squeeze)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (I use and love Real Salt {my affiliate link})
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- pinch cayenne pepper, optional
Instructions
- Using a fork, mash the avocado together with the sour cream in a bowl until thoroughly mixed and uniform.
- Add in the lemon juice and seasonings. Stir to combine.
That’s it! See, I told you it was easy! I do like to mix it up an hour or so before serving to give the flavors time to blend, but if you don’t have the extra time, it will still be delicious.
I think this is perfect with the cayenne, but when I recently made it for a big group of children, I left it out. It was still really tasty!
Of course you can play with the flavor by adding some other dried herbs, garlic powder, or throwing in some finely diced onion. The recipe easily doubles or triples, so you can make enough for a crowd, too.
As far as I’m concerned, you’ll never have to buy ranch dip again.
